MYOB EXO - Contact Details

16 April 2014 > Software, MYOB Exo,

Are you utilising the MYOB EXO contacts menu to its full potential? There are a range of functions available from the Contacts menu to enhance your business requirements! Contacts are also a useful tool for storing Customer and Supplier details.

To create a new contact for an Account (Debtor or Creditor Accounts)

In the Debtor/Creditor account, click on the Contacts tab. (The Contacts tab lists all contacts applicable to that account)

Select the New Contact icon in the toolbar.

Complete the fields in this table as required.

Click Save. A number of additional tabs now appear in the window.

Enter contact information in the below tabs also if required;

Marketing tab: Contacts can be assigned to relevant marketing classes or categories that have been set up in your EXO system so your marketing campaigns can be targeted to relevant contact/s.

(Next weeks tip will explain how to set up and utilise Marketing Classes)

Invoices tab: Lists invoices for which the contact was the chosen contact on the invoice.

Orders tab.

Notes tab: Enter any notes on the Contact. Use the New Note icon on the toolbar to enter a note, this will automatically assign a header to this note.

History Notes tab: Enter any history notes for the contact, i.e. notes for which the date and subject are also recorded. As with notes, click the New History Note icon to create a new history note.

Docs tab: Link any documents to the contact.

Accounts tab: Link the debtor accounts with which the contact is associated. For example, a contact may be the manager of one company, the partner of a manager of another company, the father of a son who works at another company, and so on.

Relationships tab: Lists any other relevant contacts the contact has.

Tasks tab: A simple task management tool.

Click Save.

To make this new contact the default contact for this debtor account, click on the Set to Default Contact icon in the toolbar.
